The Motivation

I'm doing this trip because I've witnessed first-hand what a terrible disease MS can be. After watching it affect someone, it's impossible not to do something to help anyone touched by the illness. For my mum, the progression of MS took away much what she held dear - her independence and her confidence. Yet she lost none of her strength and wit. How she battled MS with such dignity was an inspiration to our family, friends and to me. Its this which has given me the motivation to do whatever I can to raise money to help anyone touched by MS.

Personally, this is a physical and emotional challenge. Although more more and more people have done the Inca Trail as part of traveling the world, I'll be doing it with a load of people with similar reasons as me. All the people I've spoken to who have already done it say they met some amazing people during the trek and I'm sure it'll be the same for me.

But overall, this is a fantastic chance to raise a really significant sum of money for the MS Society - a charity who have helped our families and load of others like it. And if that means trekking for 5 days across the Andes, then that's what we'll do!
